Hospital commits to Niagara

The Fieldhouse Pirates are proud to announce that right-handed pitcher Steven Hospital (Oakville, ON) has committed to Niagara University in Lewiston, NY, for the Fall of 2019.

Hospital, a first-year member of the Pirates, is expected to help anchor the rotations on the Pirates’ 18U squad this summer. He will join current teammate Zach Cameron in Lewiston.

Competing in MAAC, Niagara has turned itself into a destination school in the North. The Purple Eagles, under head coach Rob McCoy, finished the 2018 season with a 24-27 record, tied for the sixth-most wins in program history. The Purple Eagles also qualified for the MAAC Championships for the first time since 2006.

Mielzynski commits to Otero

The Fieldhouse Pirates are proud to announce that 2019 1B Stefan Mielzynski (Freelton, ON) has announced his commitment to Otero JC (NJCAA D1) in La Junta, Colorado, for the Fall of 2019.

Mielzynski has been a member of the program for six years, and is expected to start at first base for the 18U Pirates this coming year.

Competing in Region 9, Otero is coming off a 22-32 overall record, which saw the Rattlers finish fourth in their conference. Mielzynski announced his commitment shortly after he was selected to represent Team Poland in Los Angeles during their selection camp trials.

Stefan Mielzynski is ending the 2018 season on the diamond.

The heavy-hitting Fieldhouse Pirates first baseman has been selected to join the Polish National Team, as they travel to Los Angeles this week. While in California, the team is playing a series of exhibition games as an informal tryout camp for the Polish team that will compete in the European Championships in the Summer of 2019.

Poland, who currently sits 39th in the World Rankings, will play club teams from UCLA, Cal. State Fullerton, St. Francis/Arcadia and more.

Mielzynski, 18, is the youngest rostered player on the team.

Fieldhouse Pirates RHP Ian Evans has been named an Under Armour Pre-Season All-American by Baseball Factory.

The event is set to take place form January 18-20, 2019, in Mesa, Arizona at Sloan Park – Spring Training home of the Chicago Cubs. The list of successful alumni who have attended this event in the past include Kris Bryant, Josh Donaldson, Alex Bregman and Eric Hosmer, to name a few. This game also serves as a selection camp for the 2019 Under Armour All-America Game.

Evans, who recently signed his NLI to attend Elon University in the Fall of 2019, crossed the border to join the Pirates program this past fall.

Congratulations to Ian and his family on this tremendous accomplishment.

Arnold commits to Campbell

The Fieldhouse Pirates are proud to announce that 2020 SS Bryce Arnold (Grimsby, ON) has announced his commitment to Campbell University (NCAA D1) in Buies Creek, North Carolina for the Fall of 2020. Arnold has been a member of the program for five years, and will start at shortstop for the 18U Pirates this coming year.

Competing in the Big South Conference, Campbell is coming off an exceptional season, finishing 21-6 in conference play en route to a conference championship. Arnold announced his commitment after a standout performance at the Prep Baseball Report Future Games in Indiana this past summer.
